Metal looking letters from Papier-Mâché

Hi all, I saw this pin on Pinterest and wanted to try it. I am very happy with the way these letters turned out. I bought these papier mache letters at Jo-Ann's Fabrics. They have many sizes depending on your use. I chose the 18" letters. I went to Michael's and bought the paint and a set of paint brushes and sponge brushes. They came in a kit for about 6.00$. Check out my before and after pictures. This is so easy anyone can make these!
Paint the letters black. You will need to paint the back, let it dry then do the front. Get 2 bottles of paint.
Then lightly apply the Metallic paint using a paint brush and a paper towel to smooth the paint to the color you like.
Then  use your sponge brush and very lightly blot the Amber colored paint where you want it to make the rust effect. I used paper towel to lightly wipe in the effect.
I used twine and a glue gun to add the hangers to the back. Make sure they are a bit low and somewhat tight or they will sag and show when you hang them. These are very light letters so this should be plenty strong enough.

I chose these paints because they are acrylic and they were recommended by the original post.
